Would you like historic charm combined with the luxury of modern living?

Our 200-year-old half-timbered house is a place to feel comfortable: Renovated with an eye for details, lots of exposed beams, oak staircase, solid wood flooring and walls showing the half-timbered structure make it an eye-catcher worthy of a museum.

The huge roof terrace, a shared garden in Mediterranean style and a bicycle storage room complete the picture.

Haus Drachenstein is a protected architectural ensemble of three half-timbered houses in the historic centre of Obertürkheim near Stuttgart. The neighbourhood offers an interesting mix of old Swabian wine growers, in whose informal Besenwirtschaften the village meets for local wine and fare, and young families living their dream of being close to nature yet near the city. It's a place where neighbours still know and help each other, where doors are open and foreigners are welcomed as if they'd always been here.

A 5 minutes walk takes you to the S-Bahn (suburban train), which goes to Stuttgart Hauptbahnhof (main station) in just 14 minutes. A kindergarden, schools, several supermarkets and shops are in easy reach. Taking a walk in the surrounding wine hills, fruit orchards, viewpoints and sights will become your favourite pastime, just as it became ours.

Haus Klein-Drachenstein offers:

Approx. 100sqm living space in 3.5 rooms (some with built-in cabinets) on three levels, two bathrooms, fully equipped kitchen with big eating/living area, natural rock basement, roof terrace. If needed, we can offer partial or full furnishings.
The house was renovated to modern standards, is not suitable for small kids and is available from March '10. The monthly rent of €900 does not include utilities/heating.
